French Presidential Election 2022: Macron Leads in the Polls

Head-to-Head Matchups and Candidate Profiles Updated Daily

As France prepares to elect its next president, the latest polls paint a clear picture of the race. Emmanuel Macron, the incumbent centrist, is forecast to win 52-54 per cent of the vote, while his far-right challenger Marine Le Pen is expected to secure 46-48 per cent.

First Round Results

In the first round of voting, Macron won 28 per cent of the vote, followed by Le Pen with 23 per cent. Other candidates, including Jean-Luc Mélenchon of the far-left, Valérie Pécresse of the Republicans, and Éric Zemmour of the Reconquête party, trailed behind.

The two candidates who receive the most votes in the first round advance to the second round, which will be held on 24 April. The winner of the second round will become the next president of France.
